Famille Perrin Les Cornuds Vinsobres - 2022
Famille Perrin Les Cornuds Vinsobres is a refined red wine crafted from Syrah and Grenache grapes grown on the hillside terraces of Vinsobres, a high-altitude village in the northern part of the Southern Rhône. Sitting at around 300 metres above sea level, the vineyard benefits from cooler temperatures, giving the wine its hallmark freshness and vibrancy.
The name Les Cornuds refers to the nearby hamlet where the vines flourish, and also to the traditional grape picker’s hod, a subtle nod to the region’s enduring winemaking heritage.
On the palate, this wine offers a beautifully balanced expression of its two varietals. Syrah lends structure, spice, and dark fruit, while Grenache brings roundness, red berry notes, and warmth. The result is a wine that is both expressive and elegant, with fine tannins, bright acidity, and a long, satisfying finish.
Perfect with grilled meats, slow-cooked dishes, or enjoyed on its own, Les Cornuds Vinsobres showcases the finesse of this exceptional terroir and the harmony of Rhône Valley varietals at their best.

Our Vinsobres Terroir
At Famille Perrin, we’ve always believed that great wine starts with great terroir. Our Les Cornuds Vinsobres comes from one of the most beautiful and expressive sites in the Southern Rhône Valley, just outside Vaison-la-Romaine. Here in Vinsobres, our vineyards stretch across limestone terraces at around 300 metres altitude, where the air is cooler and the light softer—perfect for bringing out the best in Syrah and Grenache.
This part of the Rhône has a special energy. The soils - limestone clay and stony marl on the slopes, and Quaternary alluvium on the terraces - allow both grape varieties to thrive. Syrah, in particular, reaches a level of finesse here that’s hard to find further south, while Grenache brings warmth, depth, and generosity.
The Harmony of Syrah and Grenache
Les Cornuds takes its name from the nearby hamlet where our vines grow, and from the traditional grape picker’s hod—a small detail that connects the wine to the people who tend the land. We harvest by hand, variety by variety, ensuring each grape reaches the cellar in perfect condition.
Syrah is partially vinified in oak barrels and concrete vats, adding spice, texture, and structure. Grenache is aged entirely in concrete, preserving its fruit, freshness, and lift. Every decision—whether cap punching or gentle pumping over—is made by tasting, not by recipe. We blend the wine only after malolactic fermentation, when each component has fully revealed its character.
The result is a Southern Rhône red wine that’s full of wild fruit, finesse, and balance, a true reflection of the vintage and the land.
A Word on the 2022 Vintage
The 2022 vintage brought us a growing season of contrasts, but one that rewarded patience and careful observation. A mild winter and dry spring gave way to an early, sun-drenched summer. In August, welcome rains slowed ripening, helping the fruit to reach full aromatic maturity.
We began harvesting on August 19th, under ideal conditions. A touch of rain in early September required some sorting, but overall, the grapes were in excellent condition. The wines are wonderfully expressive this year; fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced, and Les Cornuds Vinsobres 2022 is no exception.
91/100 - "Cherries, raspberries, chocolate wafers and mixed spices on the nose. Medium body with fine tannins. Juicy and supple with bright red fruit on the palate and a refreshing finish. Drink now!"
- James Suckling, Nov 2023
