Famille Perrin Les Sinards Châteauneuf du Pape Rouge - 2022
At Famille Perrin, Les Sinards Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge holds a special place in our hearts. This wine is crafted with the same care and attention as all our Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines, but it offers a more approachable expression, perfect for those who want to enjoy the elegance of the region without waiting years to do so.
The fruit for this wine comes from young vines (under 20 years old) on our historic Beaucastel estate, as well as two neighbouring plots: south-west facing Syrah from the Clos in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and fruit from Le Grès, located just 4km from Beaucastel. This union of terroirs gives Les Sinards its unique personality - fresh, bright, and beautifully balanced.
The 2022 vintage was shaped by a warm, dry season, followed by just the right amount of August rainfall. The result? A wine that bursts with ripe Grenache fruit, softened by a touch of Syrah, and supported by fine, silky tannins. It’s full of energy, yet elegant, and ready to be enjoyed now.
Les Sinards Rouge is our way of sharing the character of Châteauneuf-du-Pape in a more youthful, accessible style, without ever compromising on quality or authenticity.

At Famille Perrin, our deep roots in the southern Rhône Valley are at the heart of every wine we craft. Les Sinards Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge is our second expression from this celebrated appellation, made from young vines (under 20 years old) on our historic Beaucastel estate, as well as fruit from two neighbouring parcels: the Clos de Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Le Grès, located just 4km from Beaucastel.
This wine offers a more immediate, approachable take on Châteauneuf-du-Pape, while still reflecting the complexity and finesse of the region’s terroir. The soils here are rich with Miocene marine deposits and alpine diluvium; those signature round pebbles that absorb the heat of the day and release it at night, helping Grenache to ripen fully and evenly. One of the parcels even lies on Urgonian limestone, adding a layer of minerality and tension to the final wine.
The 2022 vintage was shaped by a unique growing season—mild, dry winter and spring months, followed by hot summer days and timely August rain. These conditions led to healthy vines and perfectly ripened grapes with impressive aromatic complexity and balance. Harvest began early, on August 19th, under excellent conditions. Careful berry tasting and plot-by-plot maturity checks allowed us to determine the ideal picking time for each variety.
In the cellar, we treat Les Sinards with the same care as our top cuvées from Château de Beaucastel. The Grenache is destemmed, while part of the Syrah is vinified in whole clusters to preserve freshness and spice. Fermentation takes place in a combination of wooden and stainless-steel vats, followed by ageing in large oak foudres for two years. The result is a Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine of real elegance - rich, expressive, and ready to enjoy.
With its vibrant fruit, silky tannins, and deep regional character, Les Sinards Rouge is a beautiful introduction to both Famille Perrin and the remarkable terroirs of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
